MICROSOFT EXPRESSION
EXPRESSION STUDIO IV LAUNCH EVENT / INTERNET WEEK, NYC / JULY, 2010
ART DIRECTION • SET DESIGN • PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT • DIGITAL INTEGRATION
Juxtaposing the next wave of design technology against the architecture of a century-old gothic-revival synagogue, Microsoft premiered Expression Studio 4 to a crowd of industry elite and downtown digerati. In accompaniment to the live DJ performance, real time animation and film manipulation was projected onto two central screens in the main chamber of the Angel Orensanz Foundation. Six Expression Stations lined the room, offering guests the opportunity to explore and create at their own pace. As the guests design, each station streamed live to a VJ station manned by FakeLove who mixed digital elements with webcam footage and a live camera feed from somewhere in the crowd. The result was an evolving and original narrative of those experiencing the product for the first time and an excellent piece of brand collateral.
