INTRODUCING....JAKE!

We're thrilled to announce the newest member of the WCIP nuclear family: Experience Designer Jake Humphrey. An intergral part of install team for The Band Van at SXSW '11, Jake now proudly holds down the fort in our home state of Texas. Equal parts flaneur and entrepreneur, he's hit the ground running, recently designing and installing a benefit for Art Pace in San Antonio.
To celebrate Art Pace's 16th annual fundraiser, Jake took a page from classic circus imagery of the 1940s. The event was a showstopper, complete with baudy freaks, clouds of bubbles, pyrotechnics, and balloons carpeting the ceiling of the 40ft tent erected outside the museum grounds. Each table was anchored by giant 84" balloons, whisked away by clowns once the guests were seated for dinner. At the center of the action were fire eating burlesque dancers, a strong man, and a fully bodypainted songstress bringing guests out of their seats and onto the stage.

Be sure to stay tuned for more dazzling feats of aesthetic greatness from a Jake-infused WCIP!

PUSHING PAPER AT LVMH

In late January, WCIP was enlisted by luxury group LVMH to create an elegant, artful environment for a celebratory dinner, hosted in their sky high ballroom in NYC. Using a yards of simple white paper, we created an engaging and voluminous visual solution, while keeping the spotlight on the honorees. Guests were treated to a three-course dinner by our favorite catering house Canard, and enjoyed a preview of the newest dance film from Swedish director Pontus Lindberg.

HOUSE WARMING

The 22nd Annual BAILEY HOUSE Auction and Benefit is but an empty giftbag of memories and warm feelings.

Last Thursday, the city's fashionably large-hearted mixed, mingled, and were generally munificent as they bid upon art, leisure, and other donated items to raise funds for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.

Items ranged from trips to Costa Rica to lifetime experiences including a backstage experience with Diane Sawyer. Guests were privy to a cutting-edge silent auction technology from IML which allowed for real-time tracking of bidding amounts and a streamlined purchasing experience for winners.

Dear friend and fellow experiential designer STEFAN BECKMAN & co. were on hand to install this year's set, with support from HK CREATIVE and the We Came In Peace team. Inspiration for this year's atmosphere came from the bold graphics and communal rallies of the Constructivist movement.

Nightlife blog GUEST OF A GUEST reports:

The crowd is typically made up of an eclectic group, from business men, to downtown hipsters, to press and photographers. Last night was no different. All the guests are fashion insiders, in their own right, and come dressed in their best. One man, Fantasia, was dressed in a long velvet cloak and a king's crown. Others preferred to wear their fur, little black dresses, or skinny jeans.

The Roseland Ballroom had a full bar set up, with lots of drinks and food. Also, included for guests to indulge in was a Ben & Jerry's ice cream station. This is where I would have spent my night.

Kingpin of the gay mafiosia Simon Doonan presided over the scene, accruing squillions of dollars towards the cause. Bravo to all who attended, donated, and posed for pictures.
