Prickly Pair Chairs by Valentina Glez Wohlers is a furniture project born out of the creative experience of a Mexican designer in Europe. The Nopal cactus symbolizes Mexican heritage and national pride. According to legend, the Gods told the Aztecs to build Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) in the place they saw an eagle standing on a Nopal, devouring a snake. To this day, the image resides on the Mexico’s Cote of Arms.

HYDROFORMED FOR YOUR COMFORT
Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 08:01PM
Polish designer OSKAR ZIETA has designed a metal stool called Plopp for Danish furniture brand Hay.
The stools are made from hydro-formed metal; two sheets of metal are welded together following the outline of the stool, which is then filled with fluid under pressure.
The result is a light construction which can be easily mass-customized at low production costs.
WCIP appreciates the forward thinking and elegance of simplicity each of these sculptures for sitting represents.
