TO VIEW THE FUTURE, PUT THESE ON

Lady Gaga rolled into the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January to unveil Polaroid’s cutting-edge Grey Label Camera Glasses. The GL20 shades contain a concealed camera and 1.5-inch OLED screens that can capture and display images and video.

“This is the first ever pair of sunglasses that can be worn out to protect your eyes from the sun and they can also take pictures,” said the 24-year-old pop star. “These glasses can be worn in public… to walk around, you can take them to a night club, you can come to one of my shows and wear them.”

The GL20 shades store photos on a chip in the earpiece of the glasses. The device isn’t available yet, but expect it to be available by the end of the year.

KUEEN'S ROYAL JEWELS

Shiny metallic things always have a way of catching one's eye, don't they? Much adoration goes out to newcomer Kueen's line of body adornments for boys, girls, and all the in-betweens. We're including all our phalanges and extremeties in this jewelry party: Kueen's got slinky nets of chains to drape on arms,  hands, and even an ear to ear one-piece earring dubbed "The Simple Bridge".

GEN ART RISES FROM GRAVE

In a bid to revive its business, which shuttered in May and is currently in bankruptcy, Gen Art announced that several players have expressed interest in forming a partnership with the former arts nonprofit and its for-profit event production company. An alliance with a major entertainment marketing agency, media company, or online outfit could potentially bring back the brand, a victim of the recession, and its assets, including event properties such as its Fresh Faces in Fashion and Film Festival.

News reports have mentioned Gilt Groupe, IMG, United Entertainment Group, and Hachette Publications as companies interested in a partnership, investors that Gen Art C.E.O. and founder Ian Gerard hopes will help expand Gen Art's marketing reach through the use of digital platforms, web video, mobile applications, and even reality TV.

"We believe that there will be a second coming of Gen Art. The brand has too much value, credibility, and a loyal following among consumers and entertainment talent to just disappear," Gerard said in a press statement. "With such a demand for cultural entertainment of this variety, and the increased need for fostering talent in this challenging economic climate, we believe that a fresh vision for bringing the brand's mission to life will be a long-term solution."
