Our good friends at BOFFO are gearing up for their 2nd annual Building Fashion series, where the newest stars of the fashion world pair up with equally talented architects to create transient, dynamic pop-up retail environments. Christening the 19th century space at 57 Walker street in Tribeca will be Mugler wunderkind, Nicola Formichetti.
Open from September 1st to 14th, Formichetti will be dividing the space, designed by the winner of the competition, into four parts, each of which representing a different mood—one inspired by nature, looking like a garden, one minimal, another digital, and one resembling a punk thrift store.
The space will transform every two weeks, to showcasing architectural genius on par with the caliber and prestige demonstrated by the supporting fashion designer. Selected architects are awarded $20,000 to build and realize their vision.
