We've just returned to NYC from two weeks in the remote desert magicland of Marfa, TX, where we teamed up with BMF Media to produce a total dream project, The Cafe Bustelo Filling Station at the third annual Marfa Film Festival.
Housed in a turn-of-the-century Masonic Lodge on historic Highland Avenue, The Filling Station was, quite literally, the "heart" of the festival. A desert lounge where filmmakers, press, and VIP's could relax, refuel, and connect by day, by night The Filling Station was buzzing with bands, guest DJs, and VIPs, closing with dance party that lasted until the sun came up over the Chinati Mountains.
Highlights of the festival included a spontaneous trip to Prada Marfa, the world premiere of Echotone (no doubt the star of the festival - we cried it was so good), teepee pow wow at El Cosmico, daily gourmet breakfast magic biscuits by Mona at the Arcon Inn, the LAND party, our very special closing dance party, and the ghosts!
A Texas-sized thank you goes out to our team, Mike B of So Valid (music curation) Jeff of the twentyten and Laurel of I Love Factory, (beautification and installation), Scott Jawson (social lubrication), the Echotone folks - Vic and Nathan (man power and morale boosting), and of COURSE, the beautiful and incredible team at Marfa Film Festival... we couldn't have done it without you! THANK YOU!
